Condemnation of Moab and Ammon; Yahweh's Sovereignty Over the Nations
Zephaniah 2:8-11
8I have heard the reproach of Moab and the revilings of the sons of Ammon, because they taunted my people and magnified themselves against their border.9Therefore, as I live, declares the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, Moab shall become like Sodom and the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah, a possession of nettle and a pit of salt and devastation forever; the remnant of my people shall plunder them, and the remainder of my nation shall inherit them.10This shall be to them because of their pride, because they taunted and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of Hosts.11The LORD shall be revered by them, for he shall make all the gods of the land waste away, and all the coastlands of the nations shall bow down to him, each from his own place.
