23And these are the numbers of the heads of the armed men for the army who came to David at Hebron to turn the kingdom of Saul over to him according to the word of the LORD.24Of the sons of Judah, those bearing shield and spear were six thousand eight hundred, armed for the army.25Of the sons of Simeon, mighty men of valor for the army were seven thousand one hundred.26Of the sons of Levi were four thousand six hundred.27And Jehoiada the leader belonged to Aaron, and with him were three thousand seven hundred.28And Zadok, a young man, a mighty man of valor, and from the house of his father were twenty-two commanders.29And of the sons of Benjamin, the brothers of Saul, were three thousand; and up to this point their number was great, and they were keeping the charge of the house of Saul.30And of the sons of Ephraim were twenty thousand eight hundred mighty men of valor, men of names according to the house of their fathers.31And of the half-tribe of Manasseh were eighteen thousand who were designated by names to come to make David king.32And of the sons of Issachar, those who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel should do—their heads were two hundred, and all their brothers were according to their mouth.33Of Zebulun, those going out for the army, arranging for battle with all the articles of battle, were fifty thousand, and to help with a heart and a heart.34And of Naphtali were one thousand commanders, and with them thirty-seven thousand with shield and spear.35And of the Danites, those arranging for battle were twenty-eight thousand six hundred.36And of Asher, those going out for the army to arrange for battle were forty thousand.37And from beyond the Jordan, of the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all the articles of the army of battle were one hundred twenty thousand.38All these were men of battle, helping the ranks with a complete heart; they came to Hebron to make David king over all Israel, and also all the remnant of Israel with one heart to make David king.39And they were there with David three days, eating and drinking, for their brothers had prepared for them.40And also their neighbors, as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, were bringing food on donkeys and on camels and on mules and on cattle—food, flour, fig cakes, and clusters of raisins, and wine, and oil, and cattle, and sheep in abundance—for there was joy in Israel.
