1 Chronicles 23:21-32
21The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.22Eleazar died and had no sons, but only daughters; and the sons of Kish their brothers married them.23The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth—three.24These were the sons of Levi according to their fathers' houses, the heads of the fathers, listed by name according to their heads, who did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from twenty years old and upward.25For David said, "The LORD, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people, and he will dwell in Jerusalem forever."26And also the Levites had no duty to carry the tabernacle or any of its articles for its service.27For according to the last words of David, the number of the sons of Levite was from twenty years old and upward.28For their office was under the hand of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD in the courts and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all that is holy, and in the work of the service of the house of God.29And for the bread of the row, and for the fine flour for the offering, and for the flatbreads of the unleavened bread, and for the griddle, and for the mixed dough, and for every capacity and measure.30And to stand every morning to give thanks and to praise the LORD, and likewise every evening.31And for all the burnt offerings offered to the LORD on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the appointed festivals, according to the number prescribed for them, continually before the LORD.32And they kept the charge of the tent of meeting, the charge of the holy things, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brothers, for the service of the house of the LORD.
