The Willful King and His Doom

Daniel 11:36-45
36He will act according to his own acceptance; he will exalt himself and magnify himself above every god and above the God of gods. He will speak astonishing things and will prosper until the indignation is finished, because what has been decided has been done. 37He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers, nor for the desire of women, nor for any god; for he will magnify himself above all. 38He will honor the god of security upon its stand, and the god whom his fathers did not know he will honor with gold and with silver and with precious stones and with precious things. 39He will act for the fortifications of security with a foreign god whom he recognizes; he will multiply glory and give them authority over many, and he will divide land for a price. 40At the time of the end the king of the Negeb will gore with him, and the king of the north will storm upon him with chariot and with horsemen and with many ships. He will come into lands and overflow and pass through. 41He will enter the beautiful land, and many will fall, but these will escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the first of the sons of Ammon. 42He will stretch out his hand against lands, and the land of Egypt will not be left for a survivor. 43He will rule over the hidden treasures of gold and silver and over all the precious things of Egypt; Libyans and Ethiopians will be in his steps. 44Tidings from the east and from the north will dismay him, and he will go out in great rage to destroy and to devote many. 45He will plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the beautiful mountain of holiness, and he will come to his end, and there is no one helping him.
