Joshua

Land Remaining to Be Possessed

Chapter 13
1 And Joshua was old, advanced in days, and the LORD said to him, "You have grown old. You have come in days, and much land remains—very much land—to possess it." 2 This is the land of all the remaining districts of Philistia and all the Geshurites. 3 from the Shihor which is on the face of Egypt and unto the territorial boundary of Ekron northward, to the Canaanite. It shall be reckoned five lords of Philistia: the Gazite and the Ashdodite, the Ashkelonite, the Gittite, and the Ekronite, and the Avvite. 4 from Teman all the land of the Canaanite and Me'arah which to the Sidonians to Aphekah to the boundary of the Amorite. 5 And the land of the Gibli and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from Baal-gad under Mount Hermon until the entrance of Hamath. 6 All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth of Waters, all the Sidonians—I will dispossess them from before the sons of Israel; only you apportion it to Israel as an inheritance just as I have commanded you. 7 And now divide this land as an inheritance for the nine tribes and half the tribe of Manasseh.
