Chapter 40
1
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
2
On the first day of the first month, the first of the month—you shall set up the tabernacle, the tent of meeting.
3
You shall put the ark of the testimony there, and you shall hang the veil in front of the ark.
4
And you shall bring the Table of the Presence and arrange its arrangement, and you shall bring the Menorah and raise its lamps.
5
You shall put the gold altar of incense in front of the ark of the testimony, and you shall put up the screen of the entrance to the tabernacle.
6
You shall put the altar of burnt offering before the entrance of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.
7
And you shall place the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar, and you shall put water there.
8
You shall set up the court all around it, and you shall put the screen of the gate of the court.
9
And you shall take the anointing oil, anoint the tabernacle and everything in it, and consecrate it and all its vessels; then it shall be holy.
10
And you shall anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and you shall consecrate the altar, and the altar shall be a holy of holies.
11
And you shall anoint the laver and its stand, and you shall consecrate it.
12
And you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting, and you shall wash them with water.
13
And you shall clothe Aaron with the holy garments and you shall anoint him and you shall consecrate him, and he shall be a priest to me.
14
And you shall bring his sons near, and you shall clothe them with tunics.
15
And you shall anoint them as you anointed their father, and they shall serve as priests to me. And their anointing to the priesthood shall be theirs—a lasting ordinance for their generations.
16
And Moses did everything that the LORD commanded him; he did it.
17
And it was in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the Tabernacle was set up.
18
Moses raised the tabernacle and put its bases in place. He set up its boards, put in its bars, and raised its pillars.
19
He spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent on it from above, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

And he took the testimony and put it into the ark and set the poles on the ark and put the atonement cover on the ark from above.
21
And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, put the veil of the screen in place, and screened the ark of the testimony, just as the LORD commanded Moses.
22
He placed the table in the Tent of Meeting on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil.
23
And he arranged the arrangement of bread on it before the LORD, just as the LORD commanded Moses.
24
And he put the lampstand in the tent of meeting opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle.
25
And he set up the lamp before the LORD just as the LORD commanded Moses.
26
And he put the golden altar in the Tent of Meeting before the veil.
27
He burned fragrant incense on it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
28
He put up the screen of the entrance to the tabernacle.
29
And he set the altar of the burnt offering there at the entrance of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and he offered up on it the burnt offering and the grain offering just as the LORD commanded Moses.
30
He placed the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing.
31
Moses, Aaron, and his sons washed their hands and their feet there.
32
When they enter the tent of meeting and when they approach the altar, they shall wash, just as the LORD commanded Moses.
33
And he set up the court all around the tabernacle and the altar, and he put up the screen of the gate of the court. And Moses finished the work.
