Chapter 14
22
You shall tithe the entire harvest of your seed, the produce of your field, year after year.
23
And you shall eat before the LORD your God in the place that he will choose to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of your grain, your new wine, and your fresh oil, and the firstborn of your herd and your flock, in order that you may learn to fear the LORD your God all the days.
24
And if the way is too far for you, because you are not able to carry it, because the place is far from you that the LORD your God chooses to put his name there, because the LORD your God blesses you.
25
And you shall give it in silver, bundle up the silver in your hand, and go to the place that the LORD your God will choose.
26
And you shall spend the silver for whatever your soul desires—in cattle and in sheep and in wine and in strong drink and in whatever your soul asks of you—and you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice—you and your household.
27
And the Levite who is in your gates—you shall not abandon him, for he has no portion or inheritance with you.
28
At the end of every three years, you shall bring out all the tithe of your harvest that year and store it at your gates.
29
And the Levite shall come—for he has no portion or inheritance with you—and the resident alien, the orphan, and the widow who are in your gates, and they shall eat and be satisfied, in order that the LORD your God may bless you in every work of your hand that you do.
