1And Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the sons of Israel, saying, This is the word which the LORD commanded.2A man, when he vows a vow to the LORD or swears an oath to bind an injunction upon his soul, shall not profane his word; according to all that goes out from his lips he shall do.3And a woman, when she vows a vow to the LORD and binds an injunction in the house of her father in her youth,4and her father hears her vow and her injunction which she has bound upon her soul, and her father is quiet to her, then all her vows and every injunction which she has bound upon her soul shall rise.5But if her father forbids her on the day he hears, all her vows and her injunctions which she has bound upon her soul shall not rise, and the LORD will forgive her because her father forbade her.6And if she is married, and her vows are upon her, or a rash word of her lips which she has bound upon her soul,7and her husband hears on the day he hears and is quiet to her, then her vows and her injunction which she has bound upon her soul shall rise.8But if on the day her husband hears he forbids her and breaks her vow which is upon her and the rash word of her lips which she has bound upon her soul, then the LORD will forgive her.9And the vow of a widow and a driven-out woman, all which she has bound upon her soul, shall rise upon her.10And if in the house of her husband she has vowed or bound an injunction upon her soul by an oath,11and her husband hears and is quiet to her and does not forbid her, then all her vows and every injunction which she has bound upon her soul shall rise.12But if her husband breaks them on the day he hears, all the exit of her lips concerning her vows and the injunction of her soul shall not rise; her husband has broken them, and the LORD will forgive her.13Every vow and every oath of injunction to afflict the soul—her husband shall cause it to rise, and her husband shall break it.14But if her husband is quiet to her from day to day and causes all her vows or all her injunctions which are upon her to rise, he has caused them to rise, for he was quiet to her on the day he heard.15But if he breaks them after he has heard, then he shall bear her iniquity.16These are the statutes which the LORD commanded Moses between a man and his wife, between a father and his daughter in her youth in the house of her father.
