9The voice of the LORD calls to the city—and one fears your name. Hear, O tribe, and who has appointed her?10Is there still a house of the wicked with treasures of wickedness and an ephah of leanness that is indignant?11Shall I be clean with balances of wickedness and with a purse of stones of deceit?12The rich of it fill it with violence, and those who dwell in it speak deception, and their tongue speaks deceit in their mouth.13I also have made you weak by striking you and by destroying you because of your sins.14You will eat and not be satisfied, and emptiness will remain in your midst; you will put away but not escape, and whoever escapes I will give to the sword.15You will sow and not reap; you will tread the olive and not anoint with oil; you will have new wine but will not drink wine.16One keeps the statutes of Omri and all the deeds of the house of Ahab, and you walk in their counsels so that I may give you to destruction and its inhabitants to hissing, and you bear the reproach of my people.
