New Tablets; Ark

Deuteronomy 10:1-11
1At that time the LORD said to me: Hew two tablets of stone for yourself like the first ones, and go up to me on the mountain, and make an ark of wood for yourself. 2I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke, and you shall place them in the ark. 3So I made an ark of acacia wood, and I hewed two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hand. 4He wrote on the tablets, as in the first writing, the ten words that the LORD spoke to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly, and the LORD gave them to me. 5I turned and went down from the mountain and placed the tablets in the ark that I had made, and they remained there just as the LORD had commanded me. 6The sons of Israel journeyed from Beeroth-bene-jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died and was buried, and his son Eleazar served in his place under him. 7From there they journeyed to the Gudgodah, and from the Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of streams of water. 8At that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD, to minister to him, and to bless in his name until this day. 9Therefore Levi has neither portion nor inheritance with his brothers; the LORD is his inheritance, just as the LORD your God promised him. 10I remained on the mountain as in the former days, forty days and forty nights, and the LORD listened to me also at that time; the LORD was unwilling to destroy you. 11The LORD said to me: Arise, set out on the journey before the people, and let them come and take possession of the land that I swore to their fathers to give them.
