1The hand of the LORD came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the LORD and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.2He made me pass around them on every side, and behold, there were very many upon the face of the valley, and behold, they were very dry.3He said to me, Son of man, will these bones live? And I said, Lord GOD, you know.4He said to me, Prophesy upon these bones and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.5Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I am bringing spirit into you, and you shall live.6I will give sinews upon you, and I will bring flesh upon you, and I will cover you with skin, and I will put spirit in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the LORD.7I prophesied as I was commanded, and there was a voice as I prophesied, and behold, a quaking, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.8I looked, and behold, sinews and flesh came upon them, and skin covered them from above, but there was no spirit in them.9He said to me, Prophesy to the spirit; prophesy, son of man, and say to the spirit, Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four spirits, O spirit, and breathe into these slain, and let them live.10I prophesied as I was commanded, and the spirit came into them, and they lived, and they stood upon their feet, a very great army.11He said to me, Son of man, these bones are all the house of Israel. Behold, they are saying, Our bones are dried and our hope has perished; we are cut off.12Therefore prophesy and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am opening your graves and I will bring you up from your graves, O my people, and I will bring you into the land of Israel.13You shall know that I am the LORD when I open your graves and when I bring you up from your graves, O my people.14I will put my spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will rest you upon your land, and you shall know that I am the LORD; I have spoken and I will do it, declares the LORD.
