1The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the midst of the valley, and it was full of bones.2And he caused me to pass over them all around, all around, and behold, there were very many on the face of the valley, and behold, they were very dry.3And he said to me, "Son of Adam, will these bones live?" And I said, "Lord GOD, you know."4He said to me, "Prophesy over these bones and say to them, 'O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.'"5The Lord GOD says to these bones: Look, I am bringing spirit into you, and you shall live.6And I will put tendons on you, and I will bring flesh up on you, and I will cover you with skin, and I will put spirit in you, and you will live, and you will know that I am the LORD.7And I prophesied as you commanded, and there was a sound as I prophesied, and behold—a rattling, and the bones came near, bone to its bone.8And I saw, and behold—tendons came up on them and flesh came up, and skin covered them from above, and there was no Spirit in them.9And he said to me, "Prophesy to the Spirit, prophesy, son of Adam, and say to the Spirit, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, Spirit, and breathe into these slain, and they will live.'"10And I prophesied as he commanded me. And the spirit came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet—a very, very great army.11He said to me, "Son of Adam, these bones are all the house of Israel. Look, they are saying, 'Our bones have dried up, and our hope has perished; we have been cut off to ourselves.'"12Therefore prophesy and say to them: The Lord GOD says, Look, I am opening your graves, and I will bring you up from your graves, my people. I will bring you to the land of Israel.13And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your burial sites and when I bring you up from your burial sites, my people.14And I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will set you on your ground, and you will know that I am the LORD. I have spoken and I will do it, says the LORD.
