Deuteronomy 3:21-29
21At that time I also commanded Joshua, saying, 'Your eyes have seen all that the LORD your God did to these two kings; so the LORD will do to all the kingdoms into which you are about to pass.' 22Do not fear them, for the LORD your God himself is the one fighting for you. 23At that time I also entreated the LORD, saying, 24O Lord GOD, you have begun to show your servant your greatness and your mighty hand—for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do deeds like yours and mighty acts like yours? 25Please let me cross over and see the good land beyond the Jordan—this good hill country and Lebanon. 26But the LORD was angry with me on your account and would not listen to me; the LORD said to me, Enough! Speak to me no more about this matter. 27Go up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward, and see with your eyes, for you shall not cross this Jordan. 28But commission Joshua and strengthen him and encourage him, for he will cross over before this people and he will cause them to inherit the land that you will see. 29So we remained in the valley opposite Beth-peor.
