Deuteronomy

Allotment East of Jordan

Chapter 3
12 And this land we inherited at that time from Aroer, which is on the Arnon wadi, and half of Mount Gilead and its cities I gave to Reuben and to Gad. 13 And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan of the kingdom of Og, I gave to half the tribe of Manasseh—all the region of Argob, all Bashan (that is called the land of Rephaim). 14 Jair son of Manasseh took all the territory of Og as far as the boundary of the Geshurite and the Maacathite, and he called them by his name Bashan Havvoth-jair until this day. 15 And I gave Gilead to Machir. 16 And to Reuben and to Gad I gave from Gilead to the wadi of Arnon—the middle of the wadi as border—and to Ybq the wadi as border, the sons of Ammon. 17 the Arabah, the Jordan, and the boundary from Chinnereth as far as the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward. 18 At that time they commanded you, saying, “The LORD your God has given you this land to possess it; all you armed men shall cross over before your brothers, the sons of Israel, sons of valor.” 19 Only your wives and your little ones and your livestock—I know that you have much livestock—shall remain in the cities which I have given you. 20 until the LORD gives rest to your brothers as to you, and they also inherit the land that the LORD your God has given them beyond the Jordan; then you return, each man to his inheritance that I have given you.
