1Then we turned and went up by the way of Bashan, and Og the king of Bashan came out to confront us, he and all his people, for battle at Edrei.2The LORD said to me, "Do not fear him, for I have given him and all his people and his land into your hand, and you shall do to him just as you did to Sihon the king of the Amorites who lived in Heshbon."3The LORD our God also gave Og the king of Bashan and all his people into our hand, and we struck him down until no survivor remained to him.4We captured all his cities at that time; there was not a town that we did not take from them—sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.5All these cities were fortified with a high wall, doors, and a bar, apart from the unwalled villages, which were very many.6We devoted them to destruction just as we had done to Sihon the king of Heshbon, devoting every city—the men, the women, and the children.7We also took all the livestock and the spoil of the cities as plunder for ourselves.8At that time we took the land from the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge as far as Mount Hermon.9The Sidonians call Mount Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir.10We took all the cities of the plain, all of Gilead, and all of Bashan as far as Salecah and Edrei—the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.11Only Og king of Bashan had remained of the remnant of the Rephaim; behold, his bed was an iron bed—is it not in Rabbah of the Ammonites? Its length was nine cubits and its width four cubits, by the cubit of a man.
