Chapter 3
1
We turned and went up the way to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan went out to meet us—he and all his people, to battle—at Edrei.
2
The LORD said to me, "Do not fear him, for I have given him and all his people and his land into your hand, and you shall do to him just as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites who dwells in Heshbon."
3
The LORD our God also gave Og king of Bashan and all his people into our hand, and we struck them down until no survivor or remnant was left to him.
4
And we captured all of its cities at that time. There was no city that we did not take from them—sixty cities, all the region of Argob, kingdom of Og in Bashan.
5
All these cities were fortified with high walls, doors, and bars—apart from the very many cities of the Perizzites.
6
We devoted them to destruction, just as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, devoting every city to destruction: the women, the little ones, and all to death.
7
And we plundered all the beasts and the spoil of the cities for ourselves.
8
At that time we took the land from the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were across the Jordan, from the wadi Arnon as far as Mount Hermon.
9
The Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir.
10
all the cities of the Mishor and all Gilead and all Bashan as far as Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
11
For only Og king of Bashan remained from the rest of the Rephaim. Behold, his bed—a bed of iron—is it not in Rabbah of the sons of Ammon? Nine cubits its length and four cubits its width, by the cubit of a man.
