32The sons of Israel were in the wilderness, and they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.33Those who found him brought him, the one gathering wood, to Moses and to Aaron and to all the congregation.34They placed him in custody, for what should be done to him had not been declared.35The LORD said to Moses, "The man shall surely be put to death; the whole congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp."36So the whole congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
