1To the divisions for the gatekeepers: Meshelemiah son of Kore, from the sons of Asaph.2And to Meshelemiah were sons: Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth.3Elam the fifth, Johanan the sixth, Eliehoenai the seventh.4And to Obed-edom sons: Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sachar the fourth, and Nethanel the fifth.5Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth, for God had blessed him.6And to Shemaiah his son sons were born; they were the ones holding dominion over the house of their father, for they were mighty men of valor.7The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, Rephael, Obed, Elzabad and his brothers, able men, Elihu, and Semachiah.8All these were from the sons of Obed-edom; they and their sons and their brothers, each a man of valor with strength for service, sixty-two for Obed-edom.9And to Meshelemiah were sons and brothers, men of valor, eighteen.10And to Hosah, from the sons of Merari, sons: Shimri the head, for he was not the firstborn, yet his father appointed him head.11Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth; all the sons and brothers of Hosah were thirteen.12To these were the divisions of the gatekeepers, to the heads of the great men, charges close to their brothers, to minister in the house of the LORD.13And they cast lots, the small as the great, according to the house of their fathers, gate by gate.14And the lot fell eastward for Shelemiah; and Zechariah his son, a counselor with understanding, they cast lots, and his lot came out northward.15To Obed-edom southward, and to his sons the house of the storehouses.16To Shuppim and to Hosah westward, with the gate Shallecheth on the ascending highway, custody close to custody.17To the east six Levites, to the north four each day, to the south four each day, and to the storehouses two by two.18To the colonnade on the west four, to the highway two, and to the colonnade two.19These were the divisions of the gatekeepers belonging to the sons of the Korahite and to the sons of Merari.
