Chapter 10
11
And it was in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, when the cloud lifted from the tabernacle of the testimony.
12
And the sons of Israel set out on their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai, and the cloud dwelt in the wilderness of Paran.
13
And they set out first at the command of the LORD through Moses.
14
And the banner of the camp of the sons of Judah set out first according to their hosts, and over its host was Nahshon son of Amminadab.
15
And over the host of the division of the sons of Issachar was Nathanael son of Zuar.
16
And over the host of the division of the sons of Zebulun: Eliab son of Helon.
17
And they took down the Tabernacle, and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, bearers of the Tabernacle, set out.
18
And the standard of the camp of Reuben set out according to their heavenly hosts, and over its host Eli-tsur son of Shedeyur.
19
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.
20
And over the host of the division of the sons of Gad, Eliysaph son of Deuel.
21
And the Kohathites, the bearers of the sanctuary, set out and raised the tabernacle until they arrived.
22
And the banner of the camp of the sons of Ephraim set out according to their hosts, and over its host was Elishama son of Ammihud.
23
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, Gamliel son of Peda-Tzur.
24
And over the host of the staff of the sons of Benjamin: Abidan son of Gideoni.
25
And the banner of the camp of the sons of Dan set out as rear guard for all the camps, for their hosts, and over its host was Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.
26
And over the cosmic order of the cultic company of the sons of Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran.
27
And over the host of the sons of Naphtali: Achira son of Enan.
28
These are the journeys of the sons of Israel according to their heavenly host, and they journeyed.
29
And Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, father-in-law of Moses, "We are traveling to the place of which the LORD said, 'I will give it to you.' Come with us and we will do good to you, for the LORD has spoken good concerning Israel."
30
And he said to him, "No, I will not go, but if anything, to my land and to my birthplace I will go."
31
And he said to him, "No, please do not abandon us, for you know our encampments in the Wilderness on account of this, and you will be to us as eyes."
32
And it will be that if you go with us, then whatever good the LORD does for us, we will do good to you.
33
And they set out from the mountain of the LORD for a three-day journey, and the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD set out before them for a three-day journey to seek rest for them.
34
And the cloud of the LORD was over them by day when they departed from the camp.
35
And when the ark set out, Moses said, "Arise, O LORD, and let your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate you flee from your face."
36
And when he rested, he said, "Return, O LORD, the myriads of thousands of Israel."
