62On the next day, which is after the Preparation, the high priests and the Pharisees assembled before Pilate.63saying, "Lord, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive, 'After three days I will arise.'"64Therefore order the tomb to be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come and steal him and say to the people, 'He has risen from the dead,' and the last deception will be worse than the first.65Pilate said to them, "You have a guard; go, make it secure as you know how."66So they went and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone with the guard.
