Proverbs 2:1-22

Chapter 2
1 My son, if you take my sayings and my commandments and treasure them with you. 2 You shall incline your ear to wisdom, your heart to understanding. 3 For if you call to understanding and give your voice to discernment. 4 If you seek them like silver and search for them like treasures. 5 Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and you will find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He stores up sound counsel for the upright, a shield for those who walk in integrity. 8 He will guard the ways of justice and the way of his faithful ones, to keep them. 9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path. 10 For wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. 11 Discretion will guard you; understanding will keep you. 12 to deliver you from the evil way, from a man who speaks perversities 13 who abandon the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness 14 Those who rejoice to do evil will exult in the perversions of evil. 15 whose ways are crooked and who are depraved in their tracks 16 to save you from a strange woman, from the foreigner who makes her sayings smooth 17 who abandons the husband of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God. 18 For her house sinks down to Death, and her paths to the Rephaim. 19 None of her entrants will return, nor will they attain the ways of life. 20 so that you may walk in the way of the good and keep the paths of the righteous. 21 For the upright will dwell in the land, and the blameless will remain in it. 22 And the wicked will be cut off from the earth, and the faithless will be uprooted from it.
