The Seventy Weeks Prophecy

Daniel 9:20-27
20While I was still speaking and praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, I was casting my supplication before the LORD my God upon the mount of holiness of my God. 21While I was still speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, faint with weariness, touched me about the time of the evening offering. 22He gave me understanding and spoke with me and said, "Daniel, I have now come forth to give you understanding." 23At the beginning of your supplications a word went forth, and I have come to declare it, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the word and understand the vision. 24Seventy weeks are decreed upon your people and upon your holy city, to restrain the transgression, to seal sin, to finish sin, to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal vision and prophet, and to anoint the most holy place. 25Know therefore and understand from the going forth of the word to restore and build Jerusalem until an anointed leader: seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; the street and the trench shall be built again, even in times of distress. 26And after the sixty-two weeks an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing; and the city and the sanctuary shall be destroyed by the people of the leader who is to come; its end shall come with a flood, and until the end of the war desolations are determined. 27And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall cause sacrifice and offering to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out upon the desolator.
