The Seventy Weeks Prophecy

Daniel 9:20-27

9
Chapter 9
20 And while I was still speaking and praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and causing my supplication to fall before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God. 21 While I was still speaking in the prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, flying swiftly, touched me at the time of the evening offering. 22 He caused me to understand and he spoke with me and said, "Daniel, now I have come out to make you understand understanding." 23 At the beginning of your supplications the word went out, and I have come to tell it to you, because you are desired. Understand the word and understand the vision. 24 Seventy sevens are decreed upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression and to complete sin and to atone iniquity and to bring everlasting righteousness and to seal vision and prophet and to anoint the holy of holies. 25 Know and gain wisdom from the going out of the word to restore and to build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince: seventy sevens, sixty-two sevens. It will return and be built, street and trench, and in distress of the times. 26 And after the sixty-two sevens the Messiah will be cut off, and there is nothing for him. The people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the holy place, and its end will come with a flood. Until the end there will be war; desolations have been determined. 27 And he will strengthen a covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he will cause sacrifice and offering to cease. And on the wing of abominations comes one who makes desolate, until the complete destruction, a decreed one that pours out upon the desolator.
