Paul's Arrival in Jerusalem and the Temple Ritual

Acts 21:17-26
17When we had arrived in Jerusalem, the brothers received us gladly. 18On the following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders came. 19After greeting them, he began to recount one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his service. 20When they heard, they began to glorify God and said to him, "You see, brother, how many myriads of Jews there are who have believed, and all are zealous for the law." 21They have been instructed concerning you that you teach apostasy from Moses to all the Jews among the Gentiles, saying not to circumcise them, nor to walk according to the customs. 22What then is to be done? They will certainly hear that you have come. 23Do therefore what we tell you. There are with us four men who have a vow upon themselves. 24Take these men, purify yourself with them, and pay the expenses on their behalf, so that they may shave their heads; and all will know that the things they have been instructed about you amount to nothing, but that you yourself also keep the law by walking orderly. 25But concerning the Gentiles who have believed, we sent word, having decided that they should keep themselves from what is offered to idols, from blood, from what is strangled, and from sexual immorality. 26Then Paul took the men, and on the next day he purified himself with them and entered the temple, announcing the completion of the days of purification until the offering had been presented for each one of them.
