Psalm 86:1-17

Chapter 86
A prayer of David. Incline your ear, O LORD; answer me, for I am poor and needy. 1 Preserve my life, for I am faithful. Save your servant who trusts in you, O God. 2 Favor me, Lord, for I call to you all day long. 3 Be gracious to me, Lord, for to you, Lord, I lift my soul. 4 Rejoice, soul of your servant, for to you, my Lord, I lift up my soul. 5 For you, Lord, are good and forgiving and abundant in steadfast love to all who call on you. 6 In the day of my distress I will call to you, for you answer me. 7 In the day of my distress I will call to you, for you answer me. 8 All the nations whom you have made will come and bow down before you, LORD, and honor your name. 9 All the nations you have made will come and prostrate themselves before you, Lord, and glorify your name. 10 Teach me your way, LORD; I will walk in your truth. Unite my heart to fear your name. 11 Lord God, I will give thanks with all my heart, and I will honor your name forever. 12 For your steadfast love toward me is great, and you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. 13 For your steadfast love is great toward me; you have divinely rescued my nephesh from the underworld beneath it. 14 But you, Lord, are the God of mercy and grace, slow to anger and great in lovingkindness and truth. 15 Turn to me and favor me; give your strength to your servant and save the son of your maidservant. 16 Turn to me and show me favor. Give your might to your servant and save her, the son of your truth. And may my enemies see and be ashamed, for you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
