Psalms 145–150 (part 1)

Psalm 145:1-147:13
1A praise of David. I will exalt you, my God, the King, and I will bless your name forever and ever. 2Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. 3Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. 4One generation will praise your deeds to another, and they will tell of your mighty acts. 5I will meditate on the glorious splendor of your majesty and on the words of your wonders. 6They will speak of the strength of your fearsome deeds, and I will recount your greatness. 7They will pour forth the memory of your abundant goodness and sing of your righteousness. 8The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and great in kindness. 9The LORD is good to all, and his compassions are upon all his deeds. 10All your deeds will give thanks to you, O LORD, and your pious ones will bless you. 11They will speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your might. 12To make known to the children of man his mighty acts and the glorious splendor of his kingdom. 13Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. 14The LORD upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down. 15The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. 16You open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. 17The LORD is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all his deeds. 18The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. 19He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. 20The LORD preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. 21My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD, and all flesh will bless his holy name forever and ever.
Chapter 146
1Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. 2I will praise the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. 3Do not put your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. 4When his spirit departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. 5Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God. 6The LORD who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever. 7The LORD who executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free. 8The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD raises up those who are bowed down. The LORD loves the righteous. 9The LORD watches over the sojourners; he upholds the orphan and the widow, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. 10The LORD will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD.
Chapter 147
1Praise the LORD, for it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is fitting. 2The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcasts of Israel. 3He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 4He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. 5Great is the LORD, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. 6The LORD lifts up the humble; he casts the wicked to the ground. 7Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre. 8He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills. 9He gives to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry. 10His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man. 11The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love. 12Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! 13For he strengthens the bars of your gates; he blesses your children within you.
