Psalms 92–97 (part 2)

Psalm 95:1-97:12
1Come, let us sing to the LORD; let us shout to the rock of our salvation. 2Let us come before his face with thanksgiving; with songs let us shout to him. 3For the LORD is a great God, and a great king above all gods. 4In whose hand are the depths of the earth, and the peaks of the mountains belong to him. 5The sea belongs to him, and he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. 6Come, let us bow down and bend the knee; let us bless before the LORD our maker. 7For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasturing and the flock of his hand. Today, if you hear his voice, 8Do not harden your hearts as at the provocation, as on the day of trial in the wilderness, 9when your fathers tested me; they tested me and saw my work. 10Forty years I loathed that generation, and I said, They are a people who go astray in heart, and they do not know my ways. 11Therefore I swore in my anger that they would not come to my resting place.
Chapter 96
1Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the land. 2Sing to the LORD; bless his name; proclaim his salvation from day to day. 3Recount his glory among the nations, his wonders among all the peoples. 4For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. 5For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. 6Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. 7Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. 8Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts. 9Bow down to the LORD in the adornment of holiness; tremble before his face, all the earth. 10Say among the nations, The LORD reigns; the world also is established; it shall not be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity. 11Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar and all that fills it. 12Let the field exult and all that is in it; then let all the trees of the wood sing. 13before the LORD, for he comes, for he comes to judge the land; he will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.
Chapter 97
1The LORD reigns; let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad. 2Cloud and thick darkness are around him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. 3Fire goes before him and burns up his enemies all around. 4His lightnings light up the world; the earth sees and trembles. 5The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the lord of all the land. 6The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory. 7All who serve carved images are put to shame, those who boast in worthless idols; worship him, all you gods. 8Zion heard and was glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of your judgments, O LORD. 9For you, O LORD, are most high over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods. 10O you who love the LORD, hate evil; he preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked. 11Light is sown for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart. 12Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name.
