1Does not wisdom call, and does not understanding raise her voice?2On the heights, upon the way, at the place of the paths, she stands.3Beside the gates, at the entrance to the town, at the openings of the entrances, she sings.4To you, O men, I call, and my voice is to the sons of mankind.5Understand prudence, O simple ones, and understand with the heart, O fools.6Hear, for I speak of noble things, and the opening of my lips is uprightness.7For my palate mutters truth, and wickedness is an abomination of my lips.8All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing twisted or crooked in them.9They are all straightforward to the one who understands, and upright to those who find knowledge.10Take my discipline, and not silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold.11For wisdom is better than jewels, and all pleasures cannot be compared with her.12I, wisdom, dwell with craftiness, and I find knowledge of plots.13The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil: pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverted mouth I hate.14Counsel and sound wisdom are mine; I am understanding; might is mine.15By me kings reign, and rulers decree righteousness.16By me rulers rule, and nobles, all the judges of righteousness.17I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.18Riches and glory are with me, surpassing substance and righteousness.19My fruit is better than gold, even than pure gold, and my produce is better than choice silver.20I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice.21To cause those who love me to inherit substance, and I will fill their treasuries.22The LORD created me at the beginning of his way, the first of his works of old.23From eternity I was installed, from the beginning, from the first of the earth.24When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water.25Before the mountains were sunk, before the hills, I was brought forth.26When he had not yet made earth and fields, or the first of the dust of the world.27When he established the heavens, I was there; when he inscribed a circle upon the face of the deep.28When he made firm the skies above, when he strengthened the fountains of the deep.29When he set for the sea its limit, so that the waters might not pass his mouth, when he marked out the foundations of the earth.30And I was beside him as an artisan, and I was delight day by day, rejoicing before him at all times.31Rejoicing in the world of his earth, and my delights are with the sons of man.32And now, O sons, listen to me, and blessed are those who keep my ways.33Hear discipline and be wise, and do not neglect it.34Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching at my doors day by day, keeping the posts of my entrances.35For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the LORD.36But he who sins against me injures his soul; all who hate me love death.
