19And when the virgins were gathered a second time, Mordecai was dwelling at the king's gate.20Esther was not telling her relatives or her people, as Mordecai had commanded her, and Esther was carrying out Mordecai's command just as she had been brought up with him.21In those days, while Mordecai was dwelling at the king's gate, Bigthan and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs who guarded the threshold, became angry and sought to lay a hand on King Ahasuerus.22When the matter became known to Mordecai, he reported it to Queen Esther, and Esther told the king in Mordecai's name.23The matter was investigated and found, and the two were hanged on a tree, and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king.
