David's Battles with the Philistines and the Valor of His Men
2 Samuel 21:15-22
15There was still war with the Philistines against Israel. David went down, and his servants with him, and they fought the Philistines, and David grew weary.16Ishbi-benob, who was among the descendants of Rapha, and the weight of whose spear was three hundred weights of bronze, and who was girded with a new sword, said that he would strike David.17Abishai son of Zeruiah helped him and struck the Philistine and killed him. Then David's men swore to him, saying, "You shall not go out with us to battle again, lest you quench the lamp of Israel."18After this there was again war at Gob with the Philistines. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite struck Saph, who was among the descendants of Rapha.19There was again war at Gob with the Philistines. Elhanan son of Jaare-oregim the Bethlehemite struck Goliath the Gittite, and the shaft of his spear was like a weaver's beam.20There was still war at Gath. There was a man of great stature, and the fingers of his hands and the fingers of his feet were six each, twenty-four in number, and he also was born to Rapha.21He taunted Israel, and Jonathan son of Shimea, David's brother, struck him down.22These four were born to Rapha in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
