Chapter 27
1
And Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, "Keep the whole commandment that I am commanding you today."
2
And it will be on the day when you cross the Jordan into the land that the LORD your God is giving you, that you shall set up great stones for yourself and plaster them with plaster.
3
And you shall write on them all the words of this Torah when you cross over, in order that you come to the land that the LORD your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD God of your fathers spoke to you.
4
And it will be, when you cross the Jordan, you shall set up these stones which I am commanding you today on Mount Ebal, and you shall plaster them with plaster.
5
And you shall build there an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones. You shall not wield iron over them.
6
You shall build the altar of the LORD your God with whole stones, and you shall offer burnt offerings to the LORD your God on it.
7
You shall sacrifice peace offerings and eat there and rejoice before the LORD your God.
8
And you shall write on the stones all the words of this Torah clearly and well.
