2 And the ones dwelling, the first ones who held in their holding in their cities—Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the Temple servants. 3 And in Jerusalem dwelt some from the sons of Judah and from the sons of Benjamin and from the sons of Ephraim and from Manasseh. 4 Uthai son of Ammihud son of Omri son of Amri son of Bani, from the sons of Perez son of Judah. 5 And Man the Shilonite; Assiah the firstborn and his sons. 6 From the sons of Zerah: Jeuel and their brothers, six hundred and ninety. 7 And from the sons of Benjamin: Shelua son of Meshullam son of Hodaviah son of Hasenaah. 8 And Ibneiah son of Jeroham, and Ulla son of Azzi son of Mekhir, and Mashullam son of Shephatiah son of Reuel son of Ibneiah. 9 And their brothers according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty-six; all these men, heads of fathers' houses for their fathers' houses. 10 And from the priests: Jedaiah, Joiarib, and Jachin. 11 And Azariah son of Hilkiah son of Meshullam son of Zadok son of Meraioth son of Ahitub, nāgîd of the temple of God. 12 And Adaiah son of Jeroham son of Pashhur son of Malchiah, and Maasai son of Adiel son of Jahzerah son of Meshullam son of Meshillemith son of Immer. 13 Their brothers, heads of their fathers' houses, one thousand seven hundred sixty mighty men of power for the work of the service in the house of God. 14 Of the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hashub son of Azrikam son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari. 15 And in the assembly: Haresha, Gallal, and Mattaniah son of Mica son of Zichri son of Asaph. 16 And Obadiah son of Shemaiah son of Galal son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah son of Asa son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of Netophah. 17 And the gatekeepers: Shalom and Akub and Talmon and Ahiman and their brother Shalom the head. 18 And up to here at the king's gate to the east—they are the gates to the camps of the sons of Levi. 19 And Shalom son of Kore son of Ebiasaph son of Korah and his brothers, to the house of his father the Korahites, over the work of the service keepers of the thresholds to the tent, and their fathers over the camp of the LORD keepers of the entrance. 20 Phinehas son of Eleazar was their ruler in former times; the LORD was with him. 21 Zechariah son of Meshullam, gate entrance to the tent of meeting. 22 All of them, the chosen ones for the gates in the books, two hundred and twelve—they were reckoned in their courts. They established David and Samuel the seer in their faithfulness. 23 And they and their sons were over the gates of the house of the LORD, to the house of the tent, for the watches. 24 The gates were to the four winds: east, sea, north, and south. 25 And their brothers in their divisions were to come for seven days from time to time with these. 26 For the four gatekeepers—the Levites—were in charge of the chambers and the treasuries of the house of God. 27 And around the house of God they lodge, for upon them is the preservation/charge, and they are over the key, to visit morning by morning. 28 Some of them were over the utensils of the service, for they bring them in by number and bring them out by number. 29 Some of them were overseers over the vessels and over all the vessels of the holy portion and over the fine flour and the wine and the oil and the frankincense and the spices. 30 And from the sons of the priests, the compounders of the compound for the incense. 31 And Mattithiah, from the Levites—he was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite—was in faithfulness over the work of the pans. 32 And from the sons of the Kehatites, from their brothers, over the bread of the arrangement to prepare Sabbath by Sabbath. 33 And these are the singing ones, heads of fathers for the Levites, in the chambers of the exempt ones, for day and night upon them in the work. 34 These were the heads of the fathers of the Levites according to their generations. These heads dwelt in Jerusalem.
