1And it came to pass on the third day that Esther clothed herself in royalty and stood in the inner court of the king's house before the king's house, while the king was sitting on his royal throne in the royal house before the entrance of the house.2And it came to pass when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court that she obtained favor in his eyes, and the king extended the golden scepter that was in his hand to Esther, and Esther drew near and touched the head of the scepter.3And the king said to her, "What is it to you, Queen Esther? And what is your request? It shall be given to you, even to half the kingdom."4And Esther said, "If it is good in the king's sight, let the king and Haman come today to the feast that I have prepared for him."5And the king said, "Hasten Haman to do the word of Esther." So the king and Haman came to the feast that Esther had prepared.6And the king said to Esther at the wine feast, "What is your petition? It shall be given to you. And what is your request? Even to half the kingdom it shall be done."7And Esther answered and said, "My petition and my request."8If I have found favor in the king's eyes and if it is good in the king's sight to grant my petition and to do my request, let the king and Haman come to the feast that I will prepare for them, and tomorrow I will do according to the king's word.
