12At that time Berodach-Baladan son of Baladan, king of Babel, sent letters and an offering to Hezekiah, for he heard that Hezekiah had become ill.13Hezekiah heard about them and showed them all the house of his treasure: the silver and the gold and the sweet spices and the good oil and the house of his vessels and all that was found in his treasuries. There was nothing that Hezekiah did not show them in his house and in all his rule.14And Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah and said to him, "What did these men say, and from where did they come to you?" And Hezekiah said, "They came from a distant land, from Babylon."15He said, "What did they see in your house?" And Hezekiah said, "They saw everything that is in my house; there was nothing that they did not see in my treasury."16And Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Hear the word of the LORD."17Behold, days are coming when they will carry away all that is in your house and that your fathers have stored up until this day to Babylon. "Not one word will escape," says the LORD.18And from your sons who go out from you, whom you will father, they will take, and they will be eunuchs in the temple of the king of Babel.19And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, "Good is the word of the LORD that you have spoken." And he said, "Is it not? If peace and truth will be in my days."20The rest of the words of Hezekiah and all his might and what he did, the Blessing and the Aqueduct, and how he brought the waters into the city—are they not written in the book of the words of the days for the kings of Judah?21And Hezekiah lay down with his fathers, and his son Manasseh reigned in his place.
