1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,2Command the sons of Israel and say to them: When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that will fall to you as an inheritance—the land of Canaan according to its borders.3Your southern side shall be from the wilderness of Zin beside Edom, and your southern border shall be from the end of the Salt Sea eastward.4The border shall turn for you from the Negeb to the ascent of Akrabbim and pass through Zin; its outgoings shall be south of Kadesh-barnea; then it shall go out to Hazar-addar and pass through Azmon.5The border shall turn from Azmon to the torrent of Egypt, and its outgoings shall be at the sea.6The sea shall be your border; the Great Sea shall be your border—this shall be your sea border.7This shall be your northern border: from the Great Sea you shall mark out for yourselves Mount Hor.8From Mount Hor you shall mark out to Lebo-Bo and Hamath, and the outgoings of the border shall be at Zedad.9The border shall go out to Ziphron, and its outgoings shall be at Hazar-enan; this shall be your northern border.10You shall mark out for yourselves an eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham.11The border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah east of Ain; then the border shall go down and strike the shoulder of the Sea of Chinnereth eastward.12The border shall go down to the Jordan, and its outgoings shall be at the Salt Sea; this shall be your land according to its surrounding borders.13Moses commanded the sons of Israel, saying: This is the land that you shall inherit by lot, which the LORD commanded to be given to the nine tribes and the half tribe.14The tribe of the Reubenites according to their fathers' house, the tribe of the Gadites according to their fathers' house, and the half tribe of Manasseh have taken their inheritance.15The two tribes and the half tribe have taken their inheritance from the side of the Jordan at Jericho eastward.16The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,17These are the names of the men who shall assign the land to you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.18You shall take one leader from each tribe to inherit the land.19These are the names of the men: from the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;20from the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Samuel son of Ammihud;21from the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;22from the tribe of the sons of Dan, the leader Bukki son of Jogli;23from the sons of Joseph, from the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, the leader Hanniel son of Ephod;24from the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, the leader Kemuel son of Shiphtan;25from the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, the leader Elizaphan son of Parnach;26from the tribe of the sons of Issachar, the leader Paltiel son of Azzan;27from the tribe of the sons of Asher, the leader Ahihud son of Shelomi;28from the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, the leader Pedahel son of Ammihud.29These are the ones whom the LORD commanded to give the inheritance to the sons of Israel in the land of Canaan.
