Deuteronomy

Passover

Chapter 16
1 Observe the month of Aviv and keep the Passover to the LORD your God, for in the month of Aviv the LORD your God brought you out from Egypt by night. 2 You shall sacrifice the Passover to the LORD your God, sheep and cattle, in the place which the LORD will choose to cause his name to dwell there. 3 You shall not eat leaven with it; seven days you shall eat unleavened bread with it, the bread of affliction, for you went out from the land of Egypt in haste, in order that you remember the day of your going out from the land of Egypt all the days of your life. 4 No remnant of it shall be seen for you within all your territory for seven days, and none of the flesh that you sacrifice in the evening on the first day shall remain until morning. 5 You will not be able to sacrifice the Passover in one of your gates which the LORD your God has given you. 6 You shall sacrifice the Passover only at the place that the LORD your God will choose to cause his name to dwell there—at evening, at the going down of the sun, the appointed time of your going out from Egypt. 7 You shall boil it and eat it at the place that the LORD your God will choose. Then in the morning you shall turn and go to your tents. 8 For six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there is an assembly to the LORD your God; you shall not do work.
