Deuteronomy 26:1-15
1And it shall be that when you come into the land that the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance, you shall take possession of it and dwell in it. 2You shall take the first of all the fruit of the land that you bring from your land that the LORD your God gives you, place it in the basket, and go to the place that the LORD your God chooses for his name to dwell there. 3You shall come to the priest who is serving in those days and say to him, "I declare today to the LORD your God that I have come into the land that the LORD swore to give to our fathers for us." 4The priest shall take the basket from your hand and set it before the altar of the LORD your God. 5Then you shall answer and say before the LORD your God: "My father was a perishing Aramean who went down to Egypt and sojourned there with few men; yet he became there a great, mighty, and numerous nation." 6The Egyptians mistreated us, afflicted us, and imposed hard labor upon us. 7We cried out to the LORD, the God of our fathers, and the LORD heard our voice and saw our affliction, our trouble, and our oppression. 8The LORD brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand, an outstretched arm, great fear, signs, and wonders. 9He brought us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey. 10And now, behold, I have brought the first of the fruit of the land that you, the LORD, gave me, and I set it before the LORD your God; you shall bow down before the LORD your God. 11You shall rejoice in all the good that the LORD your God has given to you and to your household—you, the Levite, and the sojourner who is among you. 12When you have finished tithing all the tithe of your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the sojourner, the orphan, and the widow, and they shall eat within your gates and be satisfied. 13You shall say before the LORD your God: "I have removed the sacred portion from the house and have also given it to the Levite, the sojourner, the orphan, and the widow, according to every commandment you gave me; I have not transgressed your commandments, nor have I forgotten them." 14I have not eaten any of it while in mourning, nor have I removed any of it while unclean, nor have I offered any of it to the dead; I have obeyed the voice of the LORD my God and have done everything you commanded me. 15Look down from your holy habitation in the heavens and bless your people Israel and the land that you gave us, as you swore to our fathers—a land flowing with milk and honey.
