1One woman from the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha and said, "Your servant, my husband, has died, and you know that your servant feared the LORD; the creditor has come to take my two sons as slaves."2Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me what you have in the house." She answered, "Your maidservant has nothing at all in the house except a flask of oil."3He said, "Go and borrow vessels for yourself from outside, from all your neighbors, empty vessels; do not borrow few."4Then go in, shut the door behind you and behind your sons, and pour into all these vessels; when one is full, set it aside.5She went from him and shut the door behind herself and behind her sons; they kept bringing vessels to her while she kept pouring.6When the vessels were full she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." He replied, "There is no other vessel." Then the oil stopped.7She came and told the man of God, and he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; you and your sons may live on what remains."
