1And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,2The sons of Israel shall camp, each man by his standard with the signs of their fathers' houses; they shall camp around the tent of meeting, away from it on every side.3Those camping on the east toward the sunrise shall have the standard of the camp of Judah according to their armies, and Nahshon son of Amminadab shall be the leader of the sons of Judah.4His army and their listed men number seventy-four thousand six hundred.5Next to him the tribe of Issachar shall camp, and Nethanel son of Zuar shall be the leader of the sons of Issachar.6His army and his listed men number fifty-four thousand four hundred.7The tribe of Zebulun shall camp, and Eliab son of Helon shall be the leader of the sons of Zebulun.8His army and his listed men number fifty-seven thousand four hundred.9All the listed men belonging to the camp of Judah total one hundred eighty-six thousand four hundred according to their armies; they shall set out first under their standard.10The standard of the camp of Reuben shall be on the south according to their armies, and Elizur son of Shedeur shall be the leader of the sons of Reuben.11His army and his listed men number forty-six thousand five hundred.12Next to him the tribe of Simeon shall camp, and Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai shall be the leader of the sons of Simeon.13Their army and their listed men number fifty-nine thousand three hundred.14The tribe of Gad shall camp, and Eliasaph son of Reuel shall be the leader of the sons of Gad.15His army and their listed men number forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.16All the listed men belonging to the camp of Reuben total one hundred fifty-one thousand four hundred fifty according to their armies, and they shall set out second.17The tent of meeting, the camp of the Levites, shall set out in the midst of the camps; just as they camp, so they shall set out, each man in his place according to their standards.18The standard of the camp of Ephraim shall be on the west according to their armies, and Elishama son of Ammihud shall be the leader of the sons of Ephraim.19His army and their listed men number forty thousand five hundred.20Next to him the tribe of Manasseh shall camp, and Gamaliel son of Pedahzur shall be the leader of the sons of Manasseh.21His army and their listed men number thirty-two thousand two hundred.22The tribe of Benjamin shall camp, and Abidan son of Gideoni shall be the leader of the sons of Benjamin.23His army and their listed men number thirty-five thousand four hundred.24All the listed men belonging to the camp of Ephraim total one hundred eight thousand one hundred according to their armies, and they shall set out third.25The standard of the camp of Dan shall be on the north according to their armies, and Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai shall be the leader of the sons of Dan.26His army and their listed men number sixty-two thousand seven hundred.27Next to him the tribe of Asher shall camp, and Pagiel son of Ochran shall be the leader of the sons of Asher.28His army and their listed men number forty-one thousand five hundred.29The tribe of Naphtali shall camp, and Ahira son of Enan shall be the leader of the sons of Naphtali.30His army and their listed men number fifty-three thousand four hundred.31All the listed men belonging to the camp of Dan total one hundred fifty-seven thousand six hundred; they shall set out last under their standards.32These are the listed men of the sons of Israel according to their fathers' houses; all the listed men of the camps according to their armies total six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty.33The Levites were not listed among the sons of Israel, just as the LORD commanded Moses.34The sons of Israel did exactly as the LORD commanded Moses: they camped by their standards and they set out, each man with his family according to his father's house.
