2 Chronicles 31:2-21
2Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites according to their divisions, each man according to his service, for the priests and for the Levites, for burnt offering and for peace offering, to minister and to give thanks and to praise in the gates of the camp of the LORD.3The portion of the king from his property was for the burnt offerings of the morning and the evening, and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths and on the new moons and on the appointed times, as it is written in the law of the LORD.4He commanded the people, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, so that they might be strengthened in the law of the LORD.5As the word broke through, the sons of Israel brought in abundance the first of grain, new wine, oil, honey, and all the produce of the field, and the tithe of everything they brought in great quantity.6The sons of Israel and Judah who dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought the tithe of cattle and flock and the tithe of the holy things that were consecrated to the LORD their God, and they gave heaps upon heaps.7In the third month they began to pile the heaps, and in the seventh month they finished.8Hezekiah and the officials came and saw the heaps and blessed the LORD and his people Israel.9Hezekiah inquired of the priests and the Levites about the heaps.10Azariah the chief priest, of the house of Zadok, said to him, 'From the beginning of the bringing of the contribution into the house of the LORD we have eaten and been satisfied and have had abundance left over, for the LORD has blessed his people, and this great crowd remains.'11Hezekiah commanded that chambers be prepared in the house of the LORD, and they prepared them.12They brought in the contribution and the tithe and the holy things in faithfulness, and over them was Conaniah the Levite as leader, and Shimei his brother as second.13Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiah were overseers under Conaniah and Shimei his brother by the appointment of King Hezekiah and Azariah the leader of the house of God.14Kore son of Imnah the Levite, the gatekeeper on the east, was over the freewill offerings of God, to distribute the contribution of the LORD and the most holy things.15Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah assisted him in the cities of the priests in faithfulness, to give to their brothers by divisions, both great and small.16Besides those enrolled, males from three years old and upward, all who came to the house of the LORD, for the daily matter on its day, for their service in their watches according to their divisions.17The priests were enrolled according to their fathers' houses, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward according to their watches in their divisions.18They were also enrolled with all their little ones, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, the whole assembly, for in their faithfulness they consecrated themselves as holy.19To the sons of Aaron the priests who were in the fields of the pastureland of their cities, in every city men were designated by name to give portions to every male among the priests and to all who were enrolled among the Levites.20Hezekiah did thus throughout all Judah; he did what was good and upright and faithful before the LORD his God.21In every work that he began in the service of the house of God, in the law and in the commandment, to seek his God with all his heart, he acted and prospered.
