1And the king Ahasuerus placed a taskworker upon the land and the coastlands of the sea.2And all the deeds of his power and his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai which the king had magnified— are they not written upon the scroll of the words of the days of the kings of Madai and Persia?3For Mordecai the Jew was second to King Ahasuerus, and great to the Jews, and accepted by the multitude of his brothers, seeking good for his people and speaking peace to all his seed.
