8If a matter for judgment proves too difficult for you—between blood and blood, between judgment and judgment, and between plague and plague—matters of strife in your gates, then you shall arise and go up to the place that the LORD your God will choose.9You shall come to the priests, the Levites, and to the judge who will be in those days, and you shall inquire, and they shall tell you the word of the judgment.10You shall act according to the word they declare to you from that place which the LORD will choose, and you shall carefully carry out everything they instruct you.11You shall act according to the instruction they give you and according to the judgment they render; you shall not turn aside from the word they declare to you, either to the right or to the left.12And the man who acts in arrogance by not listening to the priest who stands to minister there before the LORD your God or to the judge, that man shall die, and you shall burn the evil from Israel.13And all the people will hear and fear, and they will not act presumptuously again.
