1In that day the LORD will reckon with his sword—the severe, the great, and the strong—against Leviathan the fleeing serpent and against Leviathan the crooked serpent, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.2In that day sing of the vineyard of delight.3I, the LORD, am watching her; I will water her continually, lest anyone reckon against her; night and day I will guard her.4Rage is nothing to me. Who will give me thorn and thornbush in battle? I will step through them; I will burn them together.5Or let him strengthen himself in my security; let him make peace with me; let him make peace with me.6Those who are coming will cause Jacob to take root; Israel will blossom and sprout, and they will fill the face of the world with fruit.7Has he struck him as his striker struck him? Or has he slain as his slain ones were slain?8By driving her away, by sending her away, you contend with her; he removed her by his severe spirit on the day of the east wind.9Therefore by this the iniquity of Jacob will be atoned for, and this will be the full fruit of removing his sin: when he sets all the stones of the altar like shattered chalk stones, Asherah and the pillars will not rise.10For the fortified city is in isolation, a pasture sent away and forsaken like the wilderness; there the calf will graze, and there it will lie down, and it will finish her clefts.11When her foliage withers, women coming will break it; for it is not a people of understanding; therefore its Maker will not have compassion on it, and its Former will not be gracious to it.12And it shall happen in that day that the LORD will beat from the stream of the River to the torrent of Egypt, and you will be gathered one by one, O sons of Israel.13And it shall happen in that day that a great trumpet will be blown, and those perishing in the land of Assyria and those banished in the land of Egypt will come and bow down to the LORD on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.
