29Joshua and all Israel with him passed from Makkedah to Libnah and fought against Libnah.30The LORD also gave her into the hand of Israel, together with her king, and he struck her with the edge of the sword and every living being that was in her; he left no survivor in her, and he dealt with her king just as he had dealt with the king of Jericho.31Joshua and all Israel with him passed from Libnah to Lachish, encamped against her, and fought against her.32The LORD gave Lachish into the hand of Israel, and they captured her on the second day and struck her with the edge of the sword together with every living being that was in her, just as they had done to Libnah.33Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish, and Joshua struck him and his people until he left no survivor for him.34Joshua and all Israel with him passed from Lachish to Eglon, encamped against her, and fought against her.35They captured her on that same day and struck her with the edge of the sword together with every living being that was in her on that day; they devoted her just as they had done to Lachish.36Joshua and all Israel with him went up from Eglon to Hebron and fought against her.37They captured her and struck her with the edge of the sword, together with her king and all her cities and every living being that was in her; they left no survivor, just as they had done to Eglon, and they devoted her and every living being that was in her.38Joshua and all Israel with him returned to Debir and fought against her.39They captured her together with her king and all her cities, struck them with the edge of the sword, and devoted every living being that was in her; they left no survivor, just as they had done to Hebron—so they did to Debir and to her king, and just as they had done to Libnah and to her king.40Joshua struck all the land—the hill country, the Negeb, the Shephelah, and the slopes—together with all their kings; he left no survivor, and he devoted every living thing, just as the LORD God of Israel had commanded.41Joshua struck them from Kadesh-barnea as far as Gaza, together with all the land of Goshen and as far as Gibeon.42Joshua captured all these kings and their land in a single campaign, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.43Joshua and all Israel with him returned to the camp at Gilgal.
