Paul Departs; Apollos Instructed by Priscilla and Aquila
Acts 18:18-28
18Then Paul still remained with the brothers for many days. After taking leave he sailed out toward Syria, and Priscilla and Aquila were with him. He had sheared his head in Cenchreae, for he had a vow.19They arrived at Ephesus, and he left those there. He himself then entered the synagogue and spoke to the Jews.20When they asked him to remain for a longer time, he did not consent.21But after taking leave and saying, "I will return to you again if God wills," he departed from Ephesus.22He went down to Caesarea, went up and greeted the assembly, and then went down to Antioch.23After spending some time there, he departed and passed through the region of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.24A certain Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by descent and a learned man, arrived in Ephesus. He was competent in the Scriptures.25He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and being fervent in spirit he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, knowing only the baptism of John.26He also began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained the way of God to him more accurately.27When he wished to go on to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples to welcome him. Upon his arrival he greatly helped those who had believed through grace.28For he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, demonstrating through the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ.
