Chapter 31

And the LORD said to Moses, saying:
26
Take the head of the plunder of the captives, both in humanity and in beast—you, Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the fathers of the congregation.
27
And you shall divide the spoil between the captors of the warfare, the ones going out in the army, and between all the congregation.
28
And the levy of tribute to the LORD from the men of the warfare, the ones going out to the heavenly host: one nephesh from five hundred, from humanity and from the cattle and from the donkeys and from the sheep.
29
From their half, you shall take and give to Eleazar the priest the contribution to the LORD.
30
And from the half belonging to the sons of Israel you shall take one from the fifty—from the humans, from the cattle, from the donkeys, and from the sheep—from all the beasts, and you shall give them to the Levites, keepers of the charge of the Tabernacle of the LORD.
31
And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD had commanded Moses.
32
And the captured goods, the excess of the spoil which they plundered with the host, were six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep.
33
And cattle: seventy-two thousand.
34
And sixty-one thousand donkeys.
35
And the nephesh of adam from the women which not they knew mishkav of zakar all nephesh two and thirty eleph.
36
And the half—the portion of the ones going out in the host—from the number of the flock was three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred.
37
And the tribute to the LORD from the flock was six hundred and seventy-five.
38
And the cattle thirty-six thousand, and their levy to the LORD two and seventy.
39
And the donkeys, thirty thousand and five hundred, and their tax to the LORD, sixty-one.
40
And the persons of humanity, sixteen thousand, and their tax to the LORD, thirty-two persons.
41
And Moses gave the tribute, the contribution to the LORD, to Eleazar the priest, just as the LORD commanded Moses.
42
And from the half of the sons of Israel which Moses divided from the men of the heavenly host.
43
The half belonging to the congregation from the sheep was three hundred thirty thousand seven hundred fifty.
44
And thirty-six thousand cattle.
45
And thirty thousand five hundred donkeys.
46
And the nephesh of Adam/humanity: sixteen thousand.
47
And Moses took from the half of the sons of Israel one held from the fifty from the man and from the livestock, and he gave them to the Levites, the keepers of the keeping of the tabernacle of the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
48
Then they approached Moses, the appointed ones who were over the thousands of the host, the chiefs of the thousands and the chiefs of the hundreds.
49
And they said to Moses, "Your servants have borne the head of the men of the warfare that was in our hand, and not one man was missing from it."
50
And we present the offering of the LORD, each man what he found—vessels of gold: anklets, bracelets, rings, earrings, and nose-rings—to atone for our nephesh before the LORD.
51
Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold from them—every worked vessel.
52
And it was all the gold of the offering that they raised to the LORD—sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels—from the commanders of the thousands and from the commanders of the hundreds.
53
The men of the army had plundered for themselves.
54
And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold from the chiefs of the thousands and the hundreds, and they brought it to the tent of meeting as a memorial for the sons of Israel before the LORD.
