David’s Final Acts and Organization of the Kingdom
1 Chronicles 29:21-25
21They sacrificed to the LORD and offered burnt offerings to the LORD on the day after that day: a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, and their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.22They ate and drank before the LORD on that day with great joy. They made Solomon son of David king a second time and anointed him to the LORD as leader, and they anointed Zadok as priest.23Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king in place of David his father. He prospered, and all Israel gave heed to him.24All the officials and the mighty men, and also all the sons of King David, gave a hand under Solomon the king.25The LORD magnified Solomon to a high degree in the sight of all Israel and put upon him royal splendor such as had not been upon any king before him over Israel.
