1And it was at the turn of the year, at the time when the kings come out, that Joab led the army and ruined the land of the sons of Ammon. And he came and besieged Rabbah, while David was dwelling in Jerusalem. And Joab struck Rabbah and overthrew it.2And David took the crown of their king from his head, and its weight was found to be a talent of gold, and in it was a precious stone; and it was upon the head of David. And he brought out the spoil of the city, very much.3And the people who were in it he brought out, and he sawed them with saws and with iron cutting tools and with saws; and thus David would do to all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
