The Wall Is Completed and Leaders Appointed

Nehemiah 6:15-7:3
15The wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days. 16And it happened, when all our enemies heard and all the nations around us saw, that they fell much in their own eyes and knew that this work had been done by our God. 17Also in those days the nobles of Judah were sending many letters to Tobijah, and letters from Tobijah were coming to them. 18For many in Judah were masters of an oath to him, for he was son-in-law to Shecaniah son of Arah, and Johanan his son had taken the daughter of Meshullam son of Berechiah. 19Also his good deeds were being reported before me, and my words they were bringing out to him; Tobijah sent letters to make me afraid.
Chapter 7
1Once the wall had been built and I had set up the doors, the gatekeepers, the singers, and the Levites were appointed. 2And I appointed Hanani my brother and Hananiah ruler of the palace over Jerusalem, for he was a man of truth and feared God more than many. 3And I said to them, "The gates of Jerusalem shall not be opened until the heat of the sun, and until they are standing they shall shut the doors and grasp them; and appoint watches of the dwellers of Jerusalem, each man in his custody and each man before his house."
