12And the LORD said to Moses, saying,13And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: Surely my Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who consecrates you.14And you shall keep the Sabbath, for it is holiness to you. Whoever profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that soul shall be cut off from among its people.15Six days work shall be done, and on the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does work on the Sabbath day shall surely be put to death.16And the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.17It is a sign between me and the children of Israel forever, for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he ceased and was refreshed.18And he gave to Moses, when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone written by the finger of God.
