13Gird yourselves and mourn, you priests; wail, ministers of the altar. Come, lodge in sackcloth, ministers of my God, for the offering and the drink offering have been withheld from the house of your God.14Consecrate a fast; call an assembly; gather the elders, all who dwell in the land, to the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD.15Alas for the day! For the day of the LORD is near, and it comes like violence from the Almighty.16Is not food cut off before our eyes from the house of our God—joy and rejoicing?17The grains have shriveled under their clods; the storehouses stand desolate; the granaries lie overthrown, because the grain has withered.18How the animal sighs! The herds of cattle are perplexed, for no pasture remains for them; the flocks of sheep also have become guilty.19To you, O LORD, I call, because fire has consumed the habitations of the wilderness and a flame has kindled all the trees of the soil.20The animals of the soil also long for you, because the channels of water have withered and fire has consumed the habitations of the wilderness.
