1The priests of the tribe of Levi shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel; they shall eat the food offerings of the LORD as their inheritance.2He shall have no inheritance among his brothers; the LORD is his inheritance, as he promised him.3This shall be the legal decision for the priests from the people, from those who offer sacrifice, whether of cattle or of sheep: they shall give the priest the shoulder, the jowls, and the stomach.4You shall give him the first of your grain, your new wine, and your oil, and the first of the fleece of your flock.5For the LORD your God has chosen him out of all your tribes to stand and minister in the name of the LORD, he and his sons, all the days.6When a Levite comes from any of your towns throughout Israel where he is sojourning, and he comes with all the desire of his soul to the place that the LORD will choose,7he shall minister in the name of the LORD his God like all his brothers the Levites who stand there before the LORD.8They shall eat equal portions, apart from what is received from the sale of ancestral property.
