29God gave wisdom to Solomon and understanding in great abundance and breadth of heart, like the sand that is upon the shore of the sea.30Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the sons of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt.31He was wiser than every man—from Ethan the Ezrahite, Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol—and his name was among all the nations around.32He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were five thousand.33He spoke about the trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon to the hyssop that comes out in the wall; he spoke also about the animal, about the bird, about the creeping thing, and about the fish.34People came from all the peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the land who had heard of his wisdom.
